Join central Iowa high school students who are passionate about technology for a 10 hour community hackathon on November 6th, 2021 sponsored by Devs Do Good. You'll build new technology solutions for non-profits, gain skills and make new friends.

Do you want to grow your technical skills while also helping non-profits in the greater Des Moines community? Join the Devs Do Good hackathon on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 from 8:30a - 6:30p at West48 in West Des Moines, IA. Students can register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/devs-do-good-hackathon-tickets-156011076329.

No matter your skill level, you're welcome at Devs Do Good. Our mission is to connect students who have a passion for technology with local non-profits needing technical support.

How does it work?

During the hackathon five non-profits will share how Devs Do Good can help them with their technical needs. Maybe they need a new website, changes to an existing site or a manual process automated. You'll listen to their pitch and select which project you're most passionate about. Then you along with a small group of students and a technical mentor will spend the next 8 hours working on the project. At the end of day your team will share what you created and celebrate your success! And the best part is the non-profit can get back to their mission of helping our community and they'll have brand new tech to show off.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided during the hackathon. And if you need a break during the day, we'll have shuffleboard, ping pong, foosball and a putting matt.

Note: Devs Do Good is a 501(c)3 and volunteers may receive Silver Cord hours for their time.
